The Heli CPD30-G steps up to a 3-ton (6,600 lb) capacity with an 80V 560Ah lead-acid system — the voltage jump matters. The 80V architecture delivers significantly more torque under load than the 48V G-Series trucks below it, with measurably better mast speed at full capacity and lower current draw (less heat, longer cable life). Most CPD30-G units run a Curtis 1239 controller paired with high-output AC traction motors.
What 80V owners need to know: you can't share chargers with the rest of a 48V fleet. The 80V chargers run $1,800-$2,500 OEM with similar 6-8 week lead times. Two practical paths: (1) source a quality aftermarket 80V/100A charger with the right IUI curve, or (2) convert to lithium — the 80V architecture is well-suited to LFP retrofit, and lithium eliminates the equalization-charging maintenance cycle that kills lead-acid packs in 18-24 months.
